Position: Teaching Artist, Part-Time Contractor

Experiments in Theater is seeking Teaching Artists to join our team and provide programming to our rapidly expanding roster of schools and performing arts studios. Our curriculum offers acting, voice, dance and movement, musical theater as well as full-scale productions.

Position Details

>Class times and durations vary according to the school or community’s needs.
>After school classes generally take place Mon-Thurs between the hours of 2 and 8PM.
>Morning classes generally take place Mon-Thurs between the hours of 8 and 10 AM.
>Classes can be 1 hour to 2.5 hours depending upon the age range of the students.
>Competitive pay, flexible schedule and a fun, collaborative environment.

Key Duties

>Collaborate with EIT Executive Director regarding classes and curriculum.
>Teach and engage students in prepared curriculum.
>Supervise snack time and check out where applicable.
>Communicate with EIT Executive Director regarding student progress in class.
>Communicate with on-site administrators and program directors regarding your class.
>Prepare and present a final-class showcase for students’ family and friends.

Job Requirements

>A minimum of 1 (one) year professional experience in a teaching or child care setting.
>A background in theater or the performing arts.
>High School/Trade School degree preferred.
>College students who are studying theater or education are welcome to apply.
>All applicants must have reliable transportation.
>A cheerful disposition and enthusiasm for theater and teaching is a must.
>A mandatory FBI background check.
>Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required.
